An interview is strongly encouraged, but not required, as part of the application process.

Interviews are available to anyone applying for first-year admission for the fall of 2025. We ask that international students submit their application before requesting an interview.(Interviews are not available to transfer students unless you are a US veteran or military member.)

The interviewer will guide the course of your give-and-take conversation, and there will be plenty of time for you to ask questions.

On Campus or Virtual

Students applying for admission in fall 2025 can request an in-person or virtual interview with a Bowdoin admissions officer or student. Registration is required. Due to high demand, international students are asked to submit their application before requesting an interview.

Interviews with Bowdoin Alumni

Virtual interviews are available with Bowdoin alumni across the world from early September through the application deadline (Nov. 15 for ED1 applicants, Jan. 6 for ED2 and RD applicants). These are official admissions interviews and are a great way to learn more about the College. Due to high demand, international students are asked to submit their application before requesting an interview.
